Welcome to St. Anthony’s

A Month of Thanksgiving

It’s time to give thanks once again! October has always been a month of thanksgiving for many countries including ours. It’s the time to thank God for the harvest season and other blessings of the year that has gone by.

But do you realize how crazy we are sometimes? We put conditions to our happiness. For example, we say, “I’ll be grateful if I have the latest smart phone.” “I’ll be grateful if I get promoted to CEO.” “I’ll be grateful if my husband stops drinking.”

Don’t be unfair to yourself! Or you’ll never be happy. Don’t wait for something to happen before you become grateful. Decide to be thankful for the blessings that you have right now. And you’ll be happy forever.

Follow Psalm 77:11 when it says, “I will remember Your great deeds, Lord; I will recall the wonders You did in the past.” Be thankful for past and future blessings! If you want to increase your blessings, you must be thankful for the blessings that are already there.

Gratefulness is like dynamite. It’s powerful. It has explosive power. When you’re grateful, you unlock your happiness. You unleash your peace. You loosen the storeroom of God’s blessings. And you unlock your wealth. Wealth is not your material possession. Wealth is not your mansion or any real estate properties. Wealth is not your precious jewels. Why? Because wealth is a feeling.

Wealth is not measured by how fat is your bank account. Or how many houses you own. Or how much jewelry you possess. Wealth is measured by how grateful you are!

We give thanks to you Almighty God! Thank you for your goodness and for your blessings over us. Thank you for bringing us hope through even the toughest of times, strengthening us for your purposes. Thank you for your great love and care. Thank you for your mercy and grace. Amen.
